About

The Ralls County Library is centrally located within the county in the city of Center. The publicly funded library is free to anyone who resides in Ralls County and is also available for a small fee to non-residents of the county.  The library is located just north of the Hwy 19 & Route HH intersection at 102 N Public Street.  The library offers numerous fiction and non-fiction books, children’s books, magazines, audio books, free wifi, computer access, fax machine, copy machine and much more.

The tax-funded library started serving the county in 1992.  On December 5, 1992, our doors opened as a demonstration library for the citizens of Ralls County, utilizing grant money from the state of Missouri. In August of 1993 the county voters passed a tax levy for their library to remain operational and kept the doors open.

In March of 2003, the Board of Trustees voted to build a new building. The new site location, 102 North Public St., is adjacent to the original facility. Ground work began in March 2004. The doors opened at the new site for patron use on November 5th, 2004.
